EAC Consulting, Inc. provided the civil engineering design and construction inspection services required for this new fire station. The scope of the work included the utility design required to provide water and sewer extensions/connections, a parking lot, site work and driveways. It was done as a design build project. The new 23,510 sq. ft. station is located near N.W. 36th Street and 59th Avenue. It will house apparatus bays, firefighter dorms, the Fire Rescue Aviation Division administrative offices and a new 21st Century Training Center. The new facility will cost $3.8 million to construct. The civil design maintained applicable jurisdictional requirements relating to stormwater management and was coordinated extensively with Miami Dade County’s DERM and applicable South Florida Water Management District’s standards. The design was also in compliance with the established storm water masterplan developed for the airport watershed.
