EAC Consulting, Inc., was selected by the Village Council as the Consultant to perform the requisite services to plan, engineer and administer the construction of the needed infrastructure improvements towards protecting the Village’s residents and stakeholders from unnecessary flooding and effecting an enhanced level of service for all the Village’s stormwater management and associated infrastructure. Due to its close proximity to Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, the Village’s stormwater management system is completely influenced by tidal waters, which presents a challenge for stormwater disposal systems. The Village is Florida’s southernmost barrier island and is susceptible to the potential impacts of Sea Level Rise (SLR). In addition to CEI, EAC will emphasize minimizing impacts to the traveling public that includes a large percentage of pedestrian and cycling traffic.
